(I&R). 2-1-1 is an easy-to-remember and universally
recognizable number that makes a critical connection between
individuals |
and families
in need and the appropriate community-based organizations and
government agencies.

of South Central Georgia has joined forces with the
South Georgia Coalition to End Homelessness, Southland
Church, United Way, Family
Connection and numerous other organizations to bring 211
to our region. This region includes the following 18 counties:
Atkinson, Bacon, Ben Hill, Berrien, Brantley, Brooks, Charlton,
Clinch, Coffee, Cook, Echols, Irwin, Lanier, Lowndes, Pierce,
Tift, Turner, and Ware. The collective population of these
counties is approximately 400,000.
211 service began for Lowndes, Tift, Ware, and Pierce Counties
on June 16, 2003. Other counties
will be added systematically during 2003-2004. >>more
